Tatty Devine have gifted their 15th Birthday Collection to our new jewellery gallery

22 September 2014

Renowned British jewellery brand Tatty Devine has gifted their 15th birthday collection to mima for our new jewellery gallery.

Tatty Devine, an independent British jewellery company famous for their unique approach to designing and making handmade jewellery, has been blurring the boundaries between art, fashion and culture since 1999. The fifteen pieces they have given to mima supplement what is already one of the finest publicly-owned jewellery collections in the country.

The fifteen pieces of jewellery, which are joining mima’s collection, are key pieces from Tatty Devine’s history, with an iconic design from each year represented. These pieces include brooches, bracelets and necklaces, which have been handmade at Tatty Devine’s workshops in London and Kent. See the gallery below for images of the pieces.

This year sees the fifteenth anniversary of Tatty Devine, whose founders, Harriet Vine and Rosie Wolfenden, were awarded MBEs for services to the fashion industry last year. Tatty Devine has collaborated with a number of  high profile artists, designers, musicians, and cultural institutions. This has included artists such  as Anthony Gormley and Turner Prize winning Gilbert and George, and flagship cultural institutions such as Tate, Barbican, the Victoria and Albert Museum, and BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art in Gateshead.
